IELTS, PTE and English Test Preparation for Study Abroad
Most universities abroad ask Pakistani students for an English test such as IELTS Academic, PTE Academic or TOEFL iBT, and some accept other proof. For a UK degree you need English at CEFR level B2, which your university can assess. IEN helps you choose the right test and prepares you with diagnostic tests and practice.

Overview
The right English test depends on where and what you want to study. Universities set their own minimum scores and decide which tests they accept, and some visa routes have their own rules. Taking the wrong test, or the right test at the wrong level, costs time and money.
For the UK, GOV.UK says degree-level students need English equivalent to CEFR level B2, and the university can assess this itself. Below degree level, you usually need a Secure English Language Test (SELT) at CEFR B1, such as IELTS for UKVI. Some universities also accept a medium of instruction (MOI) letter or other evidence, so it is worth checking before you book a test.
Our preparation starts with a diagnostic test to find your current level and the gap to your target score. We then focus on the sections that need the most work, with timed practice and feedback, so you sit the test when you are ready.

English Test Prep: Common Questions
Which is easier, IELTS or PTE?
Neither is easier for everyone. PTE is computer-based and scored by machine, while IELTS can be taken on paper or computer with a human speaking test. We help you choose based on your strengths and what your universities accept.
Can I study in the UK without IELTS?
Sometimes. For degree-level courses, UK universities can assess your English themselves, and some accept an MOI letter or other evidence. Below degree level you usually need a SELT. We check what each university on your list accepts.
What IELTS score do I need?
It depends on the university and course. Many postgraduate courses ask for an overall IELTS score of 6.0–7.0 with minimum scores in each section, but always check your course page.
How long does test preparation take?
It depends on the gap between your current level and your target. A diagnostic test at the start tells you how much preparation you need.
